NVIDIA Enhances Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 with Full Suite of Video Products

SANTA CLARA, CAOCTOBER 14, 2005NVIDIA Corporation (Nasdaq: NVDA), a worldwide leader in graphics and digital media processors, today announced that it is delivering a full suite of video and multimedia products specifically for Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 with Update Rollup 2.
"Advanced video processing technologies such as PureVideo enhance the Media Center experience and give consumers a complete home theater experience on a PC," said Joe Belfiore, general manager of the Windows eHome Division at Microsoft Corp. Microprocessor Design NVIDIA is delivering solutions that maximize the Media Center experience including:

  • Microsoft Windows XP (Home Edition, Professional, Media Center Edition, or Tablet PC Edition) with Service Pack 2 (SP2) or Windows Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business, or Ultimate)
  • Windows Internet Explorer 6 or 7 for Windows XP SP2 or higher
  • PC with 300 MHz or faster CPU speed
  • 256 MB of RAM and 600 MB of available hard disk space
  • 56 kbps or faster Internet connection (broadband recommended)
  • CD or DVD burner, external hard drive, enabled media or storage device required for backup and restore functionality (but not required for installing Windows Live OneCare)

Intel Motherboard * The NVIDIA GeForce 6-series of GPUs featuring PureVideo technology, including the fanless GeForce 6600 HD design, enabling "silent" PCs

I buy my brand new computer. Do I have to care about what kind of motherboard or what kind of chip set or what operating system is on there, now You don't have to worry about that at all. As a matter of fact, when they have an OEM version of Microsoft Windows. The Home Versions, ( end version of Windows) lock that software to that vendor's machine. But, if you're running XP Pro, if you're running XP Media Center, there are no such limitations.
