Intel Boosts Mobile Intel Pentium 4 Processor Family
SANTA CLARA, Calif., Sept. 28, 2004 - Intel Corporation today
introduced the Mobile Intel Pentium 4 processor 548 supporting
Hyper-Threading Technology1 for the portability market segment.
This processor is designed for larger-sized notebook PCs, also
known as "desktop replacements," that typically feature large
screens, full-size keyboards and multiple drives. Notebooks based
on the Mobile Intel Pentium 4 processor 548 supporting HT
Technology allow users to take advantage of multithreaded and
processor-intensive multimedia applications in a portable
form factor.
The Mobile Intel Pentium 4 processor 548 supporting HT Technology
is built on Intel's industry-leading 90nm process technology, and
offers other features such as a 1MB Level 2 cache, 13 new Streaming
SIMD 3 Extensions (SSE3), enhancements to the Intel NetBurst
microarchitecture, and a processor speed of 3.33 GHz. The product
also offers such power management features as support for Enhanced
Intel Speedstep technology, deep sleep and deeper sleep that
enables lower thermals than its desktop counterpart, providing more
reliable system performance in a notebook. The Mobile Intel Pentium
4 processor 548 supporting HT Technology works with the Intel
852GME and Intel 852PM chipsets.
Microprocessor Design In 1,000-unit quantities, the Mobile Intel Pentium 4 Processor
548 supporting HT Technology is available at $262.
- The primary computing unit in a mainframe computer. in the PC today, this is usually a Intel Pentium class processor or competing AMD or Cyrix microprocessor. In separate device with a microprocessor, the microprocessor is the CPU for the device. If a device has a microprocessor, it is said to be a "Smart" device, without a microprocessor, it is a "dumb" device.

Ee Ethernet A common network cabling and signaling standard used to connect computers to a network. 100BaseT so you can use Ethernet to get online. Enhanced Intel® SpeedStep™ Technology Enhanced Intel® SpeedStep™ technology is supported in both the Mobile Intel® Pentium® III Processor M and the Mobile Intel Pentium 4 Processor M. The technology is smart enough to know how much performance you need to run a specific application. When maximum performance is required, the processor runs at the highest speed. When maximum performance is not needed, the processor speed and power is reduced. This reduction in power helps to extend battery life. For the consumer, this means the ability to watch a DVD movie on a long flight or work for hours on a research paper while sitting in the campus quad.
History Of Microprocessor 1Hyper-Threading Technology requires a computer system with a
Mobile Intel Pentium 4 processor supporting Hyper-Threading
Technology and a HT Technology enabled chipset, BIOS and operating
system. Performance will vary depending on the specific hardware
and software you use. Visit www.intel.com/info/hyperthreading for
more information, including details on which processors support HT
Technology.
Alienware’s new chassis fully supports the new Intel® Core™2 Extreme Edition processor. The new Core™2 Extreme is a brand new design that boosts processor power while being more energy efficient than the old Pentium processors. Technology so new it’s still warm when it gets to you.
